Prince Harry has joined San Francisco-based startup BetterUp as its Chief Impact Officer . The company has publicly welcomed the Prince, while a spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex also confirmed the new role as a BetterUp executive.
BetterUp provides mental health and coaching services.

The company's website mentions Harry's addition to its leadership team, describing him as a "humanitarian, mental wellness advocate and environmentalist.".
Prince Harry joins the startup just weeks after his and his wife Meghan Markle with Oprah Winfrey. The pair detailed their decision to leave the UK and leave behind their senior roles in the British royal family. They also stressed that royal life was putting a lot of pressure on them and affecting their mental health.

The Wall Street Journal was the first to report on Harry's new career move.
According to the newspaper, due to his position at BetterUp, Prince Harry will be involved in strategic decisions about products and charitable contributions and will work on issues related to mental health. The newspaper said BetterUp declined to comment on the Duke of Sussex's salary.
“It’s an essential role,” the company’s CEO, Alexi Robichaux, told the Wall Street Journal.
The prince himself described his reasons for joining the startup in a company blog post, saying he recognized a "shared passion" for helping people.

“What caught my attention about BetterUp was that the company’s mission is to unlock people’s potential. It requires innovation and integrity. Their team has been doing this work for years,” said Harry, adding that he has personally benefited from BetterUp’s coaching services.
“I personally found working with a BetterUp coach to be invaluable. I worked with a really awesome coach who gave me advice and a new perspective,” Prince Harry said in the blog.
