a member of the consortium that undertook a major technology project for the European Agencies eu-LISA and Frontex . Specifically, the consortium of companies “everis – Cancom – OTE – Sopra Steria” undertook, through an open tender, the implementation of ICT infrastructure and solutions to support all the information systems and applications of the two agencies responsible for the security and protection of the external borders of the European Union. The total budget of the project amounts to 442 million euros and its maximum duration is six years.
Through this major technology project, the consortium supports the objectives of euLISA and Frontex, designing and delivering the ICT infrastructure platform for the existing and new critical information systems of the European Agencies. The project is fully aligned with the strategic objectives of the two Agencies for the coming years: eu-LISA’s objective is to continue to develop and contribute as an implementing partner of the EU, implementing relevant European policies in the areas of freedom, security and justice, while expanding its role as a European centre of excellence in the provision of ICT services. Frontex’s objective, in turn, is to ensure security in Europe, through the effective protection of the EU’s borders.
As part of the project, OTE Group has undertaken the supply of network hardware and software, as well as services for the design, control, implementation and support of the network infrastructure of the existing and new information systems of the two European Organizations. The services will be provided by a team of specialized engineers of OTE Group from the Group's facilities in Athens, but also with a physical presence at the euLISA facilities in Strasbourg and Frontex in Warsaw.
