Android apps must ask for permission to access your location. Starting with Android 11, you can even grant apps one-time access to your location. This means you don't have to worry about apps continuing to access your location after you exit the app.
No matter how well you can monitor permissions, it's a good idea to check which apps can access your location every now and then. It's easy to do.
First, open the Settings menu on your Android phone or tablet by scrolling down from the top of the screen (once or twice depending on your device manufacturer ) to open notifications, then tap the gear icon .
Then, go to the “Privacy” section.
Select “Permission Manager”.
The Permission Manager lists all the different permissions that apps. There's everything from body sensors to call logs. What we want is “Location.”
This screen may look a little different depending on the version of Android you have and the manufacturer's display. At the top, you'll see the apps that always have access to your location. Under the "Only While In Use" section, you'll see the ones that have access for a one-time use, and finally, you'll see the apps that don't have access.
To change the permission for an app, simply select it from the list.
