The Internet of Things at Mathesis with a donation from Plastics of Crete

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the core new course at Mathesis in its first fall semester, which begins in a few days.

The course was created with a donation from "Plastics of Crete S.A.", which embraced its purpose - the dissemination of future technologies in our country - and assumed the cost of its production and offering.

Mathesis expresses its gratitude to the Lempidakis family not only for the financial aspect of their donation, but also for the moral encouragement it contains. It is recalled that attendance at all Mathesis courses is free of charge and the resources for its operation come exclusively from donations, volunteer work and a voluntary contribution – of the order of €20 – from citizens who attend them and wish to be issued with a relevant certificate. For the unemployed, not only attendance but also the issuance of a certificate is offered free of charge.

Information about the course:

Internet of Things (IoT) in practice: With Raspberry Pi and Python

Instructor: Nikos Gikopoulos, Software Engineer/Technical Manager, Mathesis

This course is aimed at people with passion, who wish to enter the new world of smart devices and applications by exploring through practical examples the possibilities offered by technology today. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to create their own original applications of the Internet of Things, such as systems that remotely control the climatic conditions of a space or automatically update by sending photos if they detect any movement in a house, and many more that we will see in practice with the help of the well-known Raspberry Pi device. The possibilities that the Internet of Things provides us are only limited by our imagination!

The course starts on Monday, October 19, 2020 and registrations have already begun at mathesis.cup.gr.
