It seems the list of companies that have fallen victim to the Blackbaud attack is endless. Texas Children's Hospital announced that the personal data of some of its patients has been stolen by malicious actors.

The children's hospital said Blackbaud, which hosts database , notified the health organization about the issue on July 16.
The attack resulted in unauthorized access to Blackbaud's system between February 7 and March 20.
According to the hospital, the attackers “extracted a copy of a subset of data related to multiple Blackbaud customers, including a backup of the hospital’s donor database.” Blackbaud confirmed that the copy was destroyed and immediately took steps to stop the attack and secure systems .
The hospital also stated that Blackbaud has no evidence or reason to believe that hackers have kept a copy of the donor database.
Upon learning of the breach, the hospital launched an investigation. It found that certain fields in the database may have contained patient names, dates of birth, department, attending physician, and/or limited clinical information.
The attack did not involve access to medical systems, electronic health records, or financial records. Nor were any social security numbers or patient financial information leaked.
The children's hospital announced on Monday that it had sent letters to patients affected by the attack.
He also advised patients to be cautious with statements they receive from healthcare providers if they see services they did not receive.
The hospital said it is taking steps to reduce the risk of an incident like this happening again in the future and to protect its patient information. The IT team is now reviewing what best practices the organization should follow to keep data secure.
