Have you ever wanted to charge your iPhone or iPad using a cable connected to your Windows 10 computer , but every time you plug it in, iTunes opens automatically? Because we know that iTunes opening automatically can quickly become very annoying, we have the solution for you to fix it. All you have to do is follow the steps below.

The culprit is a small Apple program that runs in the background called “ iTunes Helper .” This program is installed when you download and install the app, and it detects when an Apple device is plugged into a USB port on your computer, causing the app to open automatically. To stop this from happening, you need to disable the Helper. Here’s how:
- First, right-click on the Windows 10 taskbar at the bottom of the screen and then select "Task Manager" from the menu that appears.
- In Task Manager, you click on the “More details” option at the bottom of that window.
- Once the Task Manager window has expanded, click on the "Startup" tab.
- On the Startup tab, look for the entry called “iTunes Helper” and click once to select it. Then, click “Disable” in the lower-right corner of the window. You’ll also see another entry in the list called “iTunes Mobile Device Helper,” but don’t touch it. Disabling “iTunes Mobile Device Helper” will prevent iTunes from syncing with your mobile devices.
- After that, close Task Manager, log out , then log back in, or simply restart your computer. The next time you connect your iPhone, iTunes will not open automatically.

If you want to skip the restart or disconnect-reconnect, you can also stop the Helper from running, in the Processes tab > iTunesHelper > End Task.
