According to reports, WhatsApp appears to be testing the ability to connect the same user account to multiple different devices .

As WABetaInfo, the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android contains hints that the communications service is testing the ability to connect with up to four devices, including Mac.
The tipster adds that the app could eventually allow users to send codes to log into their account on an additional phone, though it's unclear how that would work from a security.
As of now, WhatsApp requires a phone number to connect to an Apple iPhone , and while it's possible to use that device to sign in to a desktop app or the web, you can't use the same account on another phone without transferring the number. So if you lose your number, you lose your account on the app too.
Based on screenshots shared with WABetaInfo, that could soon change. The images show that the interface for connected devices being tested is similar to the way users connect their account on the version of the app.

Currently the feature is hidden in the beta version, so no one can use it. Whether it will be revealed in a future beta version or will be released directly in a public launch is a matter that will occupy us after testing, if WhatsApp decides that it is feasible.
So, the service's developers are hard at work bringing the new features. Earlier this month, WhatsApp began rolling out a number of new features to its mobile, web, and desktop variants, including the option to scan QR codes for contacts and a new dark mode theme that is expanding to computers.
