Europol announced today that Polish and Swiss authorities law enforcement have “dismantled” the hacking group InfinityBlack , after arresting five of its members in Poland last week.
This criminal group was involved in distributing hundreds of millions of stolen credentials (via the InfinityBlack marketplace), creating and distributing malware and hacking tools, and engaging in various scams.
The Polish National Police (Policja) also seized the hackers, external hard drives and several cryptocurrency wallets, worth approximately €100,000.
As part of this operation, law enforcement authorities collaborated with Eurojust and Europol and “took down” two online platforms with stolen databases of credentials.
According to Europol, members of the group operated the Infinity[.]black website to sell access to stolen user.

The hackers were organized into groups
The InfinityBlack gang was organized into development, testing, and project management teams. This allowed the different team members to focus on different parts of the “business” without having to deal with the entire process.
So, developers were the ones who created the necessary tools to quality control the stolen credentials, testers analyzed the credentials , and administrators gave the data to others in exchange for cryptocurrencies.
The hackers' main source of income came from selling stolen credentials to other hacking groups.
“The hackers from the InfinityBlack group created a sophisticated script to gain access to a large number of Swiss accounts.”
Swiss authorities' investigations led to the arrest of InfinityBlack hackers
European authorities have been investigating the group for a long time. Information gathered by Swiss law enforcement helped Polish authorities track down the five hackers and arrest them at the end of last month (April 29, 2020).
