Apple CEO Tim Cook has been making a lot of announcements about the tech giant's efforts to support healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic . In a new video posted to Twitter today, Cook announced that Apple has donated over 20 million masks to healthcare workers and is willing to do even more to help in the fight against the virus. A few days ago, Cook said that the company had donated 10 million masks, and now that number has increased to 20 million. These masks come from Apple's supply chain. But Apple didn't stop there, but has also designed medical face shields, wanting to show its support for doctors. The first medical face shields were delivered last week to Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara, California, to positive response from doctors. Apple hopes to deliver 1 million medical face shields by the end of this week and another 1 million next week to facilities where there is a greater need.

Tim Cook also noted that Apple is organizing a broad operation in which the company will collaborate to design, produce and ship face shields for workers . Each package shipped includes 100 medical-grade face shields. Each shield assembles in less than two minutes and is adjustable.

The tech giant is working with doctors and government officials across the U.S.to ship the medical face shields to where they are needed most, hoping that distribution will quickly expand beyond the U.S. Finally, Cook recommends that everyone adhere to the “social distancing” measures imposed by governments in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19.
