ProtonMail – New app released to connect locally: attacks are increasing every day and taking security measures is now quite necessary. ProtonMail is one of the companies that aims to provide secure communication.
In addition to security and ease of use, easy access to these services is also of great importance. Some users do not always have a good internet connection to receive or send messages through the installed email application. For this reason, the company ProtonMail has released a desktop application, a “Bridge”, which allows access to all messages directly from local email clients.
ProtonMail Bridge: End-to-End Encrypted Email

ProtonMail Bridge is an application that allows you to integrate your ProtonMail account with any desktop email app. After installation, you can perform a text search, retrieve, and backup all your messages.
Although ProtonMail Bridge is in beta, the application is available for major operating systems (Windows, Linux, Mac) and supports the most popular email clients – for example, Thunderbird on Linux, Apple Mail on macOS, Microsoft Outlook on Windows , and other email programs.
The application integration process involves three steps – Download Bridge, add an account to Bridge , and set up the email client.
In future releases, the app will also support mobile devices. You will also be able to read and edit your emails in offline. However, before using the app, you need to make sure that your email client supports IMAP/SMTP protocols.
Finally, even though it is in beta , the ProtonMail app works flawlessly and works with most of the well-known applications.
