According to the FBI, weak passwords are one of the biggest problems related to online security. A large number of users use very simple or common passwords that can be easily guessed by a cybercriminal.
These passwords can be very easily cracked. That's why we hear about accounts and devices being compromised by hackers every day .
Most security recommend that users use strong passwords and change them regularly. However, many users do not choose strong passwords because they cannot remember them easily.
So, the FBI made a new suggestion: “Instead of using a short and complicated password, which makes it difficult for you to remember, use a longer password, something like a passphrase.” You can make a phrase with various words and symbols that you remember, with at least 15 characters. Longer passphrases help you remember them better, while at the same time making them more difficult for hackers.

Simple passwords are easy to crack, so they are considered insecure .However, it takes time to do so. According to the FBI, people can use simple passwords, as long as they are long enough to make it even more difficult for hackers, who will need much more time to both guess and crack them. On the other hand, users themselves will be able to remember them more easily.
Therefore, the FBI argues that the alternative to complex passwords is to increase the number of characters. This way, security is enhanced.
For example, two of the most common passwords are “123456” and the word “password.” Adding other numbers after 123456 will make the password stronger.
If you add other letters or symbols before and after the numbers, it will be even better.
