$3000 compensation for annoying robocalls, through new service

Do you hate annoying robocalls too? Now the solution has arrived.

$3000 compensation for annoying robocalls, through new service

Most people either hang up or ignore robocalls and let the phone ring. However, now you can get revenge on all those companies that torture you with endless calls and ask for personal information or try to sell you products and services. The solution is called Robo Revenge and it is a service that allows you to sue the person who is calling you and claim damages of up to $3,000 per call.

Robo Revenge is the latest service from DoNotPay, a legitimate chatbot that allows consumers to do things like cancel services or subscriptions or even schedule appointments at government offices, etc. According to DoNotPay founder and CEO Joshua Browder, many large companies are failing to protect consumers from robocalls.

“Consumers need to be protected,” Browder said. “The only way to end this problem is for robocallers to start losing money every time they call someone.”

The Robo Revenge service promises to implement this technique. The service is already available on both the official site and the DoNotPay app

First, Robo Revenge automatically adds you to the Do Not Call Registry, a list maintained by the Federal Trade Commission that aims to protect people from unwanted calls. It then gives you a virtual DoNotPay burner credit card, which you provide when you receive robocalls. Robo Revenge uses this information to get information and then guides you on how to sue them.

You can claim up to $3,000 in damages under the Protection , a law that protects consumers who have declared they do not want to be bothered by robocalls. Robo Revenge automatically generates demand letters and court documents to help users.

According to YouMail, a company that blocks robocalls, Americans received 58.5 billion robocalls during 2019 (22% more calls than in 2018). About half of these robocalls were scams, while 14% were related to selling products.

Browder says lawyers have made millions suing robocallers. But the average person doesn't know the law and doesn't know who's calling them. With Robo Revenge, customers can take control.

For now, the service is available to US citizens. It can significantly help reduce the problem and earn some money, but it can't keep all scammers away. It can't, for example, identify robocallers located outside the US.
