Microsoft has started rolling out new updates for Skype that add background blurring to video calls.
This feature will allow you to have a blurred background while on video calls, which may be necessary if there is something behind you that you want to hide.
Background Blur is a feature that Microsoft announced during the Ignite 2018 conference.

The new feature uses AI, and Microsoft says it will keep your background blurred in video calls, but it can't guarantee that it will be permanent. That means you'll still have to pay attention to what's going on behind you if you don't want others to see it.
Skype background blur without guarantees
“We do everything we can to ensure your background is always blurred, but we can’t guarantee that it will always be,” Microsoft says about the new version of the app
To activate the feature while making a call, follow these steps:
Hover over the screen to reveal the video options.
Hover over the video icon to reveal more options and toggle on “Blur my background.” Once enabled, your background will be blurred for those watching you, according to the company.
This feature according to the company works in the desktop versions of the chat app, but so far it doesn't appear to be rolling out to the Microsoft Store.
