Google Chrome 69: As we mentioned in a previous post, Google is preparing a new improved version of Chrome. The new version (69) of the browser will be released in September and according to Google, it will add Material Design to all operating systems.
We also mentioned that Google Chrome 69 will also bring native notifications to Windows 10. What we did not mention and is worth your attention is how the new browser is going to treat Flash Player.
Yes, we have been criticizing Flash Player for years, and we all heard with relief that Adobe will shut it down in 2020.Microsoft, the Mozilla Foundation, and Apple also have life schedules for Flash in their browsers.
Flash content can still be used by Chrome users today, and Google says it will only support it minimally until Chrome 87 in 2020.
For now, if a user has enabled Flash for a specific website, they don't need to re-enable it when they visit it again. However, starting with Chrome 69, you'll need to re-allow websites to use Flash every time you run the browser.
Of course, this process will make using Flash very frustrating, but the goal of the change with Chrome 69 is to prevent Flash processes from running in multiple tabs.
Google also says that the new version will bring improvements to Chrome management with Microsoft Intune.
"Policies that are only available when Microsoft Windows is joined to a Microsoft Active Directory domain can be configured with Intune," Google says.
"Chrome policies with Intune will be supported on Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise editions."
