iTunes adding the app to the Windows Store

About a year ago, at its Build conference, Microsoft announced that Apple's iTunes would be available in the Windows Store before the end of 2017. That date came and went without us seeing it happen.
But late last night (April 26), without any official announcement from Microsoft, iTunes appeared in the company's Store. iTunes
Is it significant?
Microsoft seemed interested in adding Apple's iTunes to its Store for Windows 10 S users, since this version (version then, function today) of Windows can only run apps available in the Store.
Microsoft has designed and intended Windows 10 S for students or those who wanted longer battery life and greater security. To make the above (security and longer battery life) happen, users were only allowed to install apps from the company's Store, and not the apps we are all familiar with (win32).
Now that Microsoft has announced that the S version is going “operational,” adding iTunes to the Store may not have been so necessary.
Some Apple users who use Windows wanted to see this app in the Microsoft Store. So it seems Microsoft has done them a favor…
