Cyberattacks campaigns by states, governments and terrorist groups have increased in recent years. Britain appears to be worried about an impending cyberwar.
The British military will take drastic measures to tackle cyber attacks, hackers, digital propaganda and disinformation, according to a report from the Ministry of Defense.

“A unit called the Sixth Division will be reintroduced as part of the Field Army’s plans… to defeat adversaries both above and below the threshold of conventional conflict,” the Ministry said.
Troops recruited into the department will be trained in intelligence gathering and covert surveillance, as well as a variety of cyber skills.
Lieutenant General Ivan Jones, commander of the Field Army, said: “The character of war continues to change, as the boundaries between conventional and unconventional warfare increasingly blur.”

"The military must remain adaptable and evolve as a fighting force."
A recent example of how much the nature of wars has changed came when Russian shared false stories of misbehavior by British Army soldiers during a military exercise in Croatia.
Despite the restructuring, the Ministry of Defense says there will be no changes to staff numbers or funding.
