Microsoft company even announced an SDK that lets developers port x86 applications to ARM64 chips. Since then, developers have also been trying to get the benefits of Windows 10 on ARM processors.
And now Bas Timmer, a software developer who also goes by the nickname NTAuthority, is trying to run the ARM64 Build of Windows 10 on devices with smaller screens. He has already managed to run Windows 10 on the Google Pixel 3XL, and his latest experiment involves the OnePlus 6T.
While booting up Windows 10 on the OnePlus 6T, which he dubbed as the "OnePlus 6T 🙁 Edition," Timmer encountered the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) error.
However, he didn't share any instructions on how we could get our own "OnePlus 6T Edition," which probably indicates that trying to run Windows 10 on our Android smartphone could be a frustrating experience.
Nevertheless, it has generated a lot of discussion and excitement. The developer also noted that touch works well on Windows 10 on the OnePlus 6T because the device's AMOLED display runs the Synaptics touch controller.
This is because Windows devices already support the Synaptics touch controller, and most of these laptops also use a Synaptics trackpad.
Timmer then informed that the device also had a UFS issue, so we don't know how long we'll have to wait until we see the release of the Windows 10 desktop GUI on the OnePlus 6T.
Timmer is a member of the Windows on ARM development team and enjoys porting ARM64 variants of Windows 10 to unsupported platforms like the Raspberry Pi.
Earlier, he had booted Windows 10 on the Google Pixel 3 XL, where the boot sequence initially showed the Google logo, followed by the Windows logo.
