Microsoft Windows Defender ATP now available for Mac devices

Defender The news is very good since the Redmond company has decided to make Microsoft's security and protection software, Windows Defender ATP, available on the Mac operating system.

The new, revised Microsoft Defender ATP is the evolution of Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), Microsoft's anti-malware suite for businesses. According to the company, with the new ATP, the interface is very similar to what people are used to on Windows 10 devices.

For those interested, Microsoft Defender ATP will be available on Mac as a “limited preview.” However, it is not intended for all devices. The software will be available on devices running macOS High Sierra or later.

What features are included in Microsoft Defender ATP for Mac?

The features included in the software are the following: scanning for malware, examining detected malware, removing malware (or intervening based on what you want), the ability to enable and disable real-time protection, cloud protection, manual checks for security updates.

Microsoft has said it plans to bring the security software to other platforms, so it's very possible we'll see Microsoft Defender ATP available on Linuxin the future.
