If you're one of those people who opens multiple tabs at once while working and then searches through the different open tabs to find the one you need, then Mozilla has made things easier for you.
Mozilla will add a new feature to Firefox 66 (Via: BleepingComputer) that will allow you to find a specific tab from multiple open ones simply by searching for words contained in the title of that particular tab. The feature is also available in Firefox 64, the current version of the Firefox browser, but it works as a search shortcut and not a full feature.
If you want to search for a tab from all the ones you have open, type % followed by a space and a word that appears in the title of that tab.
For example, if you want to search the open Reddit tab then you would type “%red” and all the tabs with the word “red” in their title will appear for you to choose which one you want. The function will also search for tabs that are open in a different window.
Mozilla wants to make this feature easier for users. Starting with Firefox 66, a “Search tab” option will appear in the list of open tabs, but it will only appear when you have multiple tabs open in the browser.
You can search any open tab by simply clicking the option and typing the keyword in the tab title in the address bar. The option will eliminate the step of typing the % symbol.
When you click on the “Search tab”, the % symbol will be automatically inserted and you will just need to enter the keyword.
The option will make the feature easily accessible so more users can take advantage of it.
