Google is testing a new feature that will allow G Suite users to invite users who don't have a Google account to view, comment on, suggest edits, or even directly edit Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides files.
This was not possible until now, as G Suite users could only share documents with users who had a Google account.

The way this new feature will work is through PINs (Personal Identification Numbers). Google said that G Suite users will be able to invite a user via email.
The email will contain a link to the shared document. Non-Google users will be able to access the link by requesting a PIN code that they will receive via a second email.
With the PIN, users will be able to view and/or edit the shared file. The GIF below posted by Google explains the entire process.

File owners will be able to see a detailed activity log for each file and each PIN they granted access to. They will also be able to revoke access for each PIN at any time or view any activity they do not approve of.
Google said this feature is already rolling out to all G Suite accounts, but warned that it is still in beta development.
G Suite administrators can enroll in the program here. Once access is approved, G Suite administrators can restrict this feature by domain or limit sharing of internal documents to only whitelisted domains (such as partner email domains).
