AMD of upgrades and improvements. That was last week. This week, AMD released a small update that builds on the original release and provides a set of bug fixes.
The new Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition 18.12.3 driver is listed as “optional” download, which essentially means it does not provide performance improvements for specific games. However, it faces a memory issue that some Radeon RX Vega owners experience – in some cases, the memory can be locked at 800MHz, says AMD.
This is one of the nine bug fixes. Below is the full list of resolved issues:
- The speed counter in Radeon WattMan can sometimes overflow.
- The memory clocks in the graphics products of the Radeon RX Vega series may be locked at 800MHz.
- Game profiles with custom fan settings may sometimes remain, even after closing a game.
- The game streaming tab may be missing from the Radeon settings when Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition is installed twice on a system.
- Radeon ReLive for VR may exhibit a brief glitch for a few seconds immediately after the headset is connected.
- The auto-tuning control elements do not display the warning message in the Radeon Overlay.
- Custom values for the sampling interval slider in the performance measurement feature may not be activated.
- Radeon settings may sometimes display an older driver version, even after the program has been successfully upgraded.
- The Apply and Done buttons may sometimes overlap in Radeon Settings or in the Radeon Overlay.
If you continue to use the driver package prior to the 2019 Adrenalin Edition, the update to the latest version offers some benefits in certain games – 4% in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, 3% in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, in Doom and in Wolfenstein II, and 7% in Strange Brigade.
