- Cloud storage is your best friend! Whether you use iCloud, Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, OneDrive , or whatever else you have at your disposal, you can transfer your data and save it there to save space for future files on your iPhone.
- Since there is a limit to how much stream , there is another smart way to save space. The downside is that if you don't have unlimited internet access, streaming over broadband can be quite expensive. For this reason, go to Settings>iTunes & App Stores and turn off Automatic Downloads for the various media options.
- Take control of your photos! You can frequently transfer photos to your computer and store them on an external drive, or transfer them directly to iCloud Photo Library with synchronization. Go to Settings>Photos and turn on iCloud Photo Library. While you're there, turn on Optimize iPhone Storage to free up space. The downside is that if the number of photos is large enough, you'll need to subscribe, because the free space is limited to 5GB.
- Change the quality of the videos you shoot by going to Settings>Camera and tapping the Record Video option, change to 1080p/30fps or even 720p. This page gives you information about the capacity and resolution of the videos consumed.
- Delete unused and unnecessary apps. Additionally, devices running iOS 11 and iOS 12 have the ability to automatically delete unused apps by going to Settings>General>iPhone Storage and enabling Offload Unused Apps.
- Turn on the auto-delete setting for messages. Messages can be a huge storage hog. Luckily, Apple offers a way to see older messages. Just go to Settings>Messages>Keep Messages and choose whichever option suits you best.
- Finally, it's a good idea to always have a hard drive to store files you don't want to lose. It's a safe way to store files and save space on your device.
