Apple has updated its App Store support page statistics for the second time since the official launch of its latest mobile operating system, iOS 12, to inform us about its adoption among iPhone and iPad users.

On October 10, 2018, Apple released its first statistics on the adoption of its iOS 12 mobile operating system on supported iPhone, iPad , and iPod touch devices, reporting that over half of devices have already adopted the latest software version. Specifically, iOS 12 ran on 53% of all devices introduced in the last four years and 50% of all devices.
The company's App Store support page updated us on October 29, showing the number of users who have adopted iOS 12. According to the support site, 63% of devices introduced in the last four years are running the iOS 12 mobile operating system, while 60% of all devices in the entire year are running iOS 12. Meanwhile, about 30% of all devices are still running iOS 11.
These statistics were measured by the App Store as of October 29, 2018, based on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices introduced since September 2014 that had registered with the App Store during the corresponding period. The chart also shows that approximately 7% of all devices are running an older version of iOS.
Since these statistics do not include data on the recent release of iOS 12.1, which was released by Apple on October 30, 2018 – following the event where the giant tech company introduced the new iPad Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Mini models – we believe iOS 12 adoption is already at new percentage levels.
iOS 12.1 will certainly boost the adoption of Apple's iOS 12 mobile operating system among iPhone and iPad users, as it introduces 70 new emoji characters, the vastly improved Group FaceTime that lets you chat with up to 32 people at once, and dual-SIM support on the newest iPhone models.
