The secret Windows hotkey that restarts your graphics card drivers

Windows has a secret hotkey that restarts your graphics drivers. If your computer freezes, try this shortcut before doing a full restart.

This key combination restarts the graphics subsystem in Windows 10 and Windows 8. There is no corresponding keyboard shortcut for restarting your graphics drivers in Windows 7.
To restart your graphics drivers, press the Win + Ctrl + Shift + B. Your screen will go black for a second and you will hear a beep. Immediately after, everything will reappear exactly as it was before you pressed the above key combination. All your current applications will remain open and you will not lose any of your work.
The same will happen even when playing a game on your computer. The game will continue to work properly immediately after restarting the graphics card drivers. This is because Windows simply restarts the graphics subsystem. All your applications remain as they were and continue to work normally.
This keyboard shortcut is part of the Windows 10 operating system, so it will restart the drivers for NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel cards. Whatever graphics hardware your computer has, it will work.
Of course, there is no guarantee that this will fix a system freeze. However, if your computer froze due to an issue with your graphics card drivers, this shortcut may fix it. Graphics card problems can occur when playing 3D games, but they can also occur when you are just using your computer normally. Windows 10 uses graphics hardware to speed up your desktop design, and even modern web browsers use it to speed up the rendering of a web page.
If the problem still hasn't been resolved after restarting your graphics card drivers in the above way, and you still have a black or frozen screen, then try the Ctrl + Alt + Delete. You can also try pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc to immediately open Task Manager, or press Alt + Tab or Win + Tab to try switching windows.
If your computer doesn't respond to any of these keyboard shortcuts, even after restarting your graphics card drivers, you may need to perform a hard shutdown. To do this, press the computer's power button and hold it down for about ten seconds, until the computer turns off. Wait a few seconds before turning the computer back on with the power button. It's not good for your computer to shut down this way, but it's the only thing you can do if your computer remains "frozen."
Of course, if you see a blue screen, this shortcut won't help. A blue screen (BSOD) indicates that your Windows operating system has completely crashed, and the only thing you can do is restart your computer.
