Apple is now powered by 100% renewable energy worldwide. This includes all of its retail stores, offices, data centers , and partner facilities in 43 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, China, and India.

Apple is committed to combating climate change, creating a healthier environment, and numerous renewable energy projects will facilitate this goal. Among the projects we will find solar panels in arrays, wind farms, and newer technologies such as biogas fuel cells, hydroelectric power generation systems, and energy storage technologies.

“We are committed to leaving the world better than we found it. After years of hard work, we are proud to have reached this important milestone. We will continue this work with the materials in our products, the way we recycle them, our facilities and working with suppliers to create new ideas for renewable energy, because we know the future depends on it,” said Tim Cook, Apple CEO.
Apple said it currently has 25 renewable energy projects generating 626 megawatts of power, with 286 megawatts generated by solar panels, as of 2017. For example, Apple's new headquarters in Cupertino uses solar panels on top of its buildings, which generate 17 megawatts of clean energy.

Apple said 23 companies it partners with and provide it with renewable energy materials and systems will also participate in the program.
With 15 more projects under construction in a total of 11 countries, they are estimated to produce over 1.4 gigawatts of renewable energy.
