The latest analysis published by DisplayMate reveals that the Samsung Galaxy S9 simply has the best smartphone display ever, managing to beat the previous holder of this title, the iPhone X.
In the company's technical research, DisplayMate explains that the Samsung Galaxy S9 sets a new record for high absolute color accuracy, reaching a record value that makes it "visually indistinguishable from perfect.".
Additionally, the display is no less than 20% brighter than the Galaxy S8, with a peak screen brightness of 1130 nits. It also has the highest contrast and lowest screen brightness at 4.4%. DisplayMate says the display also offers the highest contrast and ambient light ratings and the lowest brightness variation with viewing angle.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 receives the highest A+ rating offered by DisplayMate, and the organization says that this particular model is the most innovative and high-performance display ever tested.
“The Galaxy S9 delivers consistently high performance across all of the top display performance categories and receives top scores across all DisplayMate Lab testing and measurement categories – the first display we’ve ever tested to receive the highest score across all categories. The level of performance and display continues to rise every year, and the Galaxy S9 has raised the bar even higher,” he says.
Although the appearance of the Samsung Galaxy S9 appears to be similar to that of its predecessor, the South Korean company has clearly implemented a plethora of improvements, although from the looks of things, there is still room for more improvements.
Ironically, the iPhone X was the previous model to hold the title of the phone with the best display in the world, but the display was made by Samsung.
