Rumors about the Galaxy S9 have begun to heat up as Samsung's new flagship is likely to see the light of day in January.
Rumors claim that the Galaxy S9 is being tested with the new Android 8.0 Oreo in anticipation of its public launch in early 2018, although this raises some questions about the company's strategy regarding the software.
While Samsung has never been in a hurry to bring the latest versions of Android to its devices – with the Galaxy S8 still yet to receive Android 8.0 Oreo as living proof – its customers will be disappointed if the next flagship doesn't offer the latest.
Let's remind you that Google has released the final preview of Android 8.1, so it will be available on devices very soon. This means that Android 8.1 Oreo will be ready when Samsung decides to present us the Galaxy S9. Of course, there are high chances that the company will choose version 8.0 for its new device.
At this point, several speculations are being published regarding the technical specifications of the new S9. Specifically:
- The device will offer 5.8 and 6.2-inch displays.
- We will encounter two alternative processors, Snapdragon 845 and Exynos 9810.
- We will encounter two RAM options, 4GB and 6GB.
- The larger model will feature a dual camera system.
- The screen bezels will likely be reduced to the point where they will be barely visible.
Surely, we should expect something impressive from Samsung this time, given the great response that the iPhone X from its rival, Apple, had.
