German creator Karsten Schmidt has designed and built a new home security system that uses your old smartphone to create an easily installed home surveillance system that you can access from anywhere in the world. The Globo #Jacky home security project launched on Kickstarter this month to raise the funds it needs to go into production.
“More than 100 million old mobile phones remained unused in German households in 2016. A mobile phone consists of at least 25% metals such as copper, iron, nickel, zinc, tin, but also lead, cobalt, lithium and noble metals such as silver, gold, palladium and platinum. Now you can use your old smartphone to protect your property! Globio is an approach from a group of people who felt the need for an easy, cheap and reliable security device. After many years of product development in the area of mobile communication, the idea of Globio was born in January 2015. Since then it has matured as a brand and includes a comprehensive range of individual products.”
Never before have there been “so many” alarm systems for so little money! The #Jacky 'Door' door communication and globio app simply use the numerous functions of an old or unused Android smartphone. Thanks to the smartphone, it doesn't matter how far you are from home! With only €20 and an old smartphone, you will feel safe about your home when you are on vacation. In case of danger you can:
– call and “enter” the room silently or even speak directly to the “intruder”
– receive a short message or an email,
– the phone can take photos or record a video and send the data to you,
– play a given or individual sound at home and much more.
Globio is now available for support via Kickstarter, with donations starting at just €12 and launch expected in January 2018. For full specifications and more information, head over to the official Kickstarter campaign page via the link below.
