Ikea mocks Apple as its furniture already has wireless charging

Ikea is once again poking fun at Apple, and this time it's about the wireless charging feature announced for the new generation of iPhones.

Some of you may think that wireless charging is something new or that Apple is doing things differently. But it's not. The company just reworked a technology that's been around for a few years into something more "shiny" and made it its own.

This isn't the first time Apple has done this, and it certainly won't be the last. The good thing is that sometimes other companies publicize their delays in implementing technologies or claim that a technology is revolutionary. Ikea wants to embarrass Apple by showing that it already has wireless charging in its furniture.

One of the most annoying things about an iPhone fan or user is that they brag that this technology was made available on last year's model of Android. Now, imagine that the technology you now proudly use is also available on furniture made by Ikea and has been for quite some time. That must be really bad.

Ikea's "hits" at Apple are not direct and their purpose is to emphasize that they already have wireless charging, Apple is an easy target in this regard.

This is also not the first time Ikea has mocked Apple, but the last time was for the launch of their new catalog and they were simply mocking their marketing style and not a product.

Ikea doesn't just sell wireless chargers, it also builds them into furniture. The sad truth for Apple customers, of course, is that wireless charging technology has been all around us for the past few years. The new  iPhone may be beautiful, but it has some old tech in it.
