The Galaxy S8 and S8+ available on T-Mobile and Verizon have started receiving an update that brings support for the Android Pay. The update has already started rolling out to users and provides some bug fixes as well as improvements in various areas.
The new Samsung smartphones have started receiving the updated version with Android Pay for faster, easier and more secure payments. Clearly, Android Pay essentially competes with Samsung Pay but according to a report consumers will have the option to choose according to their preference.
Android Pay allows users to add credit, debit, and gift cards for payments in physical and online stores as well as in apps that support them. The same goes for Samsung Pay, although it's not as widespread as Google's payments platform.
In other news, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ on Verizon received minor improvements to Bixby. The phones have icons for reminders and Bixby Vision in the top right corner of the screen, allowing users faster access.
Apparently’ that Bixby Voice was not included in the update, which means that consumers still cannot use voice commands on Samsung's virtual assistant. Verizon also included a series of bug fixes concerning the crashing of Samsung Notes. This means the phone will have fewer disconnections when connected to the Gear S3.
Additionally, the Visual Voicemail app has been updated and now provides normal playback when the smartphone is moved closer to the ear.
