Things are not going particularly well for Nokia , which seems to be canceling support for one of the few applications under its own development, Z Launcher.
Nokia Z Launcher was released in 2014 and has been updated many times since then with new features and improvements. Unfortunately, almost three years after the app was released on the Google Play Store, the developers have not yet released its final version. In short, Nokia Z Launcher is still in beta with the last update dating back to April 2016, so it is very likely that Nokia will abandon support for the app. In an e-mail, the Finnish company confirmed that it will not be updating the app, which will remain in a test version for now.
Although Nokia has not confirmed the cancellation of the app, its future looks bleak. With no update coming soon, many Z Launcher fans will likely stop using it, resulting in it being removed from the Google Play Store completely.
Nokia Z Launcher, for those who don't remember, was released three years ago alongside the N1, the company's first Android tablet. However, due to its popularity among users, Z Launcher was included in the Google Play Store so that everyone had the opportunity to acquire it. However, things don't seem to be going so well over time.
The good news, however, is that Nokia is set to announce a new series of Android smartphones next month that will likely bring some innovations in the software sector.
