After passing through the FCC and then going up for pre-order a few weeks ago, Google has now officially launched its new WiFi router, which is designed to provide an easier set up that creates a wireless system that provides seamless WiFi coverage throughout your home.

By using a selection of Google WiFi routers and replacing their existing hardware, users can eliminate dead zones, Google says. Google's new wireless router is compatible with top internet service providers including Comcast, Time Warner and Verizon FiOS.

Google explains:

“Enjoy a fast signal in every room, for every device, thanks to a new type of connected system. Replace your router with a series of Google Wifi points that work together to blanket your home with fast, reliable WiFi. Advanced software works in the background to manage your network so you don’t have to. Network Assist always chooses the clearest channel for your devices.

Through its compatible app, it's easy to share your password with your guests, prioritize devices on your network, see what's connected, and more. Google Wifi lets you turn off Wi-Fi on your kids' devices at bedtime or dinnertime.

Features of the new Google Wireless router:

  • A single Wi-Fi router covers up to 139 sq. meters, while combining multiple ones covers homes up to 418 sq. meters. The Wi-Fi points work together so you can add more if you need extra coverage.
  • Network Assist technology keeps your connection fast by always choosing the clearest channel for your devices.
  • A simple app helps you set up easily and allows you to see what's connected, which devices have priority, and disconnect children's devices.
