Wine lovers everywhere will be thrilled with this news! A new machine that aims to do for wine what Nespresso does for coffee can now be yours!
D-Vine – from French start-up 10-Vins – puts wine in a 100ml test-tube-like container called a “flacon” (small bottle) and brings it to the optimal temperature and aeration recommended by winemakers.
Within a minute, it can freeze or heat wine and aerate the drink through a long tube that runs through the machine. The machine took about 4 years to develop. It was ready in 2014 and has been on sale in Europe since Christmas 2015.

One reason it took so long was because the makers wanted the chiller to be able to freeze your drink within a minute and without having to plug the machine in. It's not the same as a refrigerator, which takes a while to reach and maintain a low temperature, said co-founder Thibaut Jarrousse.
It was launched in Singapore this week – the first step outside Europe – and manufacturers are keen to expand sales to the US and Asia.
The vineyards provide wine and information on its temperature and aeration, for small bottles, as the company does not make its own.
“It can be a bit difficult to convince ‘traditional’ winemakers to put their wines in a format like this,” Jarrousse explained. But he hopes that smaller estates will be encouraged by the prospect of reaching more customers, as well as by the promise that their products will be presented in the best possible condition. For now, all of his wines come from France, but the company is eager to reach more winemakers, Jarrousse said.

Wines from other European countries and California are the next target, he added.
