Linus Torvalds transformed technology twice – first with the Linux kernel, which helps power the Internet, and then again with Git, the source code management system used by developers around the world.
Linus Torvalds is considered the father of Linux. His job is to develop each new Kernel and is funded by the Linux Foundation.
In a rare interview with TED curator Chris Anderson, Torvalds discusses with remarkable ease the elements of his personality that have defined his unique philosophy around work, engineering, and life.
"I'm not a visionary, I'm an engineer," says Torvalds.
"I'm perfectly content with all the people who have their eyes on the clouds... but I'm looking at the ground and I want to fix the puddle in front of me before I fall in.".
