Those of you who may not remember the incident, it was an attack on the network and security systems of the company where all customer data was stored. Adobe sent warning notifications to 3.1 million users whose credit card details had been stolen, as well as to more than 33 million users whose passwords had been compromised.

After meticulous investigation, the general prosecutors concluded the failure of Adobe to properly protect its customers. Consequently, they imposed a fine of 1 million euros and demanded new security systems to prevent similar violations in the future. The prosecutors emphasized that Adobe not only failed to safeguard its customers' data but also did not detect the attack promptly, resulting in significant damage.

According to a statement from Maura Healey, Attorney General of Massachusetts, Adobe failed to respect the trust customers placed in it. In addition, this incident will lead to the implementation of new practices to secure customer data.

Adobe is required from now on to review its internal security policies twice a year and whenever deemed necessary, to improve them. Furthermore, it will introduce additional security measures for users' critical information (e.g., for credit card data)Adobe
