The CHiP Smart Cookie Oven could be your excuse to get back into the kitchen. This oven, specifically designed for cookies, bakes up to four cookies at once, works with your own cookie dough, is Wi-Fi-enabled, and can send personalized “grams” as you eat. It even has a delay start feature so you can come home after a long day at work to the aroma of freshly baked cookies.
CEO Kevin Yu said: “We realized we wanted a device that did what we love easily, conveniently and perfectly. Then we redesigned the best type of device that would be needed to accomplish this particular task, researched what we would need and realized that all the pieces were in front of us.”
The machine works with the SideChef app, which helps amateur (or professional) cooks with recipes, tutorials, timers and other useful kitchen tips. Customize the cookies to your taste with chewy, classic or crunchy options.
CHiP is currently available on Kickstarter for the month of November. The machine will be available for $144. The ready-made dough (the company is currently experimenting with biodegradable packaging) includes flavors like protein breakfast, gluten-free, oatmeal, oatmeal, raisin, and peanut butter. The ready-made doughs will be sold both in packs of four (ranging from $5 to $9) and by subscription service (a three-month subscription with 16 cookies per month ranges from $16 to $32).
Yu says that while the focus is on cookies for now, he sees room for other products as well. Could this mean homemade cookies, cakes and muffins in the future?
