Along with the release of iOS 10 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch today, Apple released the new WatchOS version for the Apple Watch. The updated WatchOS 3.1 introduces small changes to the device and focuses mainly on fixing bugs.
Note that there are updates to Messages and that impending battery issues have been fixed. With the update you will be able to play with the effects as long as Reduce Motion (power‑saving button) is active. The updated software version also fixes possible full‑charge problems that some models of the Apple Watch Series 2 may have had. The update attempts to fix the Timer, the Activity Interface (the function that connects what is happening in our body with the Apple Watch, e.g., heart rate) and Force Touch (the button that, depending on the force you apply, performs a different function).
The Update will be available in September and will not drastically change the interaction with your Apple Watch. This Update also brings other changes to the interface and the watch's apps, including the new App Dock, the “SOS” function for notifying authorities in emergency situations, as well as the Breath App, which guides the user in performing deep breathing exercises.
WatchOS 3.1 version is available for Apple Watch Series 2 and Apple Watch Series 1, as well as first‑generation models. You must connect your watch to the charger and you must have at least 50 percent battery to install the update.
