Microsoft has just released a new version of Skype for Linux. The new update brings an experimental video calling app as the company continues to develop the feature.
For now, video calls can only be made between Skype for Linux clients, but Microsoft plans to expand support for all systems with future updates.
“This week, we have something special for you. The team has been working hard to bring video calling to Linux, and today we have an experimental version ready for you. 1-to-1 video calls only work between Skype for Linux clients for now,” Microsoft says.
Additionally, this new version affects old versions of Skype for Linux, as from today, versions older than 1.7 will no longer work, and users will need to update to the latest version.
Those interested can download the DEB and RPM.
