Microsoft has just released a new Alpha version of Skype for Linux. After a long time, the company decided to work on a new client that will bring the application's modern functionality to Linux. So today, Redmond released Skype 1.2 Alpha for Linux after an early Alpha version was released about a week ago.
The new Skype 1.2 Alpha for Linux comes with a lot of improvements.
Among the highlights, however, it's worth noting that Skype 1.2 comes with support for HD avatars, as well as the CTRL + Q shortcut to quickly quit the app. The new version allows users to change audio and video settings.
Microsoft says it focused on improving the stability of the service, saying that everything should work better with this version.
Below is the link to try the application. Please note that although it is a new version, it is still in the alpha stage, so it is very possible that you will encounter errors when using it.
