There have been a lot of rumors and leaks about the upcoming Galaxy J2 (2016) in the last few weeks, but perhaps the most interesting one is the new Smart Glow notification feature. Samsung has finally released the Galaxy J2 (2016), along with the Galaxy J Max smartphone, which features a gigantic 7-inch display.
Over the past few weeks, Samsung's Galaxy J2 (2016) has managed to get certified by the FCC and has even been spotted on several benchmark sites, which have revealed some of its features. The Galaxy J2 (2016) that was released today is a revised version of the original model, which was released last year.
The smartphone's features aren't all that impressive, except perhaps for the new Smart Glow notification feature. Smart Glow is a new LED feature around the rear camera. The new tool changes its color depending on notifications, from apps, battery usage, or incoming calls.
The Smart Glow also has the ability to show weather conditions, as the LED lights up based on the current forecast.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 2016 comes with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and features a 5-inch HD display. It has 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of storage that can be expanded up to 128GB. The rear camera is 8MP with LED flash and the front camera is 5MP.
The battery capacity reaches 2,600mAh, and the smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 and comes with 4G (LTE Cat.4).
The device comes in various colors (gold, black, and white) with dimensions of 142.4 x 77.1 x 8.0 mm. Turbo Speed Technology (TST) improves performance and Samsung claims that the feature can load apps up to 40% faster compared to other devices.
The Galaxy J2 (2016) will cost $145 and will be available first in India starting next week.
