Hacker breached billboards and streamed porn

A hacker with the alias Johnny Cockring hacked two giant billboards in Alabama, America, on Friday and broadcast pornographic images.

The breach occurred a day after notorious hacker Andrew Auernheimer, also known as Weev, revealed that some giant LED billboards connected to the Internet could be hacked using their original codes.

Weev reported on Thursday that: “There are a bunch of giant LED billboards on Shodan. The initial passwords for them are admin / admin”!!!.

Less than 24 hours later, Johnny Cockring exploited the flaw. He hacked into the billboards' programming and added pornographic images to the existing playlist.

The strange thing is that a day before Auernheimer, who discovered and disclosed the vulnerability, said he arrived outside the offices of the company that handles the signs to warn them about the issue. Someone from the company seems to have not taken him seriously.

This isn't the first time hackers have cracked down on unsafe billboards to pull pranks. Last year, someone replaced an advertisement on a billboard in Atlanta (there again) with a giant image of a man bending over unnaturally, stretching his buttocks.
