It's no secret that Facebook is getting ready for virtual reality. Proof? The new "Surround 360" camera is here to give things around you a new perspective.
Today at its F8 conference, Facebook announced the Surround 360 camera. It's a 17-lens 3D dock that looks like a "Gravitron," but shoots top-notch 360-degree video. Its 17 4-megapixel lenses allow it to capture video at up to 8k resolution.
Surround 360 doesn't require complex work to produce VR videos, provided you're willing to pay $30,000 to get it.
Facebook, on the other hand, said it will publish hardware designs and video montage algorithms on GitHub later this summer.
Maybe if you get your hands dirty you can build it yourself.
If they still don't work, are you thinking about getting it?
