The w0rm hackers hacked another hacking group and are selling the data

The hacking group w0rm, which also has a forum of the same name, attacked a rival hacking gang, called Monopoly, and is now offering their opponents' database for sale on its forum!!!

Apparently, there are no “boundaries” between hacking groups, and everything can now happen under the guise of their “business activity.”.

w0rm , a hacking group famous for hacking the BBC in 2013, VICE, CNET, and the Washington Post in 2014, is popular in h@ckZ0r circles for its forum, where w0rm hackers and other hacking groups sell databases from compromised companies and zero-day exploits .

The same can be said for the rival hacking group called Monopoly, who also operate a similar forum, but which focuses on selling user data to be used in online fraud, botnets, and spam related to various products.

According to Motherboard, the w0rm hackers are proud to have a database list of their opponents on their own forum and are offering it for the meager price of $500 / €450 / 2.15 Bitcoin.

To be fair, the price is higher than w0rm was asking a year ago for the VICE and Washington Post databases, both of which are up for sale for just 1 Bitcoin.

Exploring Twitter and some Dark Web sites, there doesn't seem to be any kind of rivalry or hatred between the two groups, so this move is more insidious than initially thought. The hacking group doesn't seem to have any apologetic tweets for hacking their comrades.

The contents of the Monopoly database are currently unknown. It could be just forum login credentials, or it could be the group's entire portfolio of victims and botnet clients.
