Microsoft is reportedly preparing two new Lumia smartphones, though there has been no official confirmation. Rumors suggest that the company is planning to launch them in two months.
Evan Blass, owner of the Twitter account evleaks, has leaked images of the two upcoming Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL devices. Both of them run Microsoft's new Windows 10 Mobile operating system.
As you can see in the photos, both devices come with the familiar Lumia design, with a square look and a simple Windows logo on the back cover. The Microsoft branding is used on the front of the device, just like on current models.
In terms of design, there doesn't seem to be anything exciting, but there are probably surprises in the specifications.
Unconfirmed features
According to the information circulating, the Lumia 940 will come with a polycarbonate body and will feature a 5.2-inch display.
The device will be powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor, and will have 3 GB of RAM. There will be a 20-megapixel camera, for stunning photos in all lighting conditions. It will have 32 GB of storage and support for adding a microSD card. The device's battery will be 3,000 mAh.
The Lumia 950 XL will come with almost the same specs, but will feature a Snapdragon 810 processor. Both devices will feature USB Type-C ports and 5-megapixel front cameras for selfies and video calls. Of course, we have to mention the iris scanner for Windows Hello authentication.
As for the release date, Microsoft is expected to unveil both devices at a special event in New York in October.
