Since June, the Mozilla has been developing a version of Firefox that will support the Oculus Rift. Today, the company announced a new site to showcase the possibilities of virtual reality on the Web.
To celebrate Firefox's 10th anniversary, Mozilla has released MozVR, a kind of Google Chrome Experiments, to the entire web community. The Mozilla Foundation will share experiences and testing of experimental "native VR" that will push the company, the Web, and Oculus Rift to new limits.
There are a number of initial demos at MozVR, including a WebGL flyover of British Columbia and data visualization, similar to the technique that integrates Leap Motion with the Oculus Rift.
The Mozilla Foundation is also making the MozVR source code available, so developers can develop their own experiences on the Web once the Oculus Rift is generally available.
