Twitter has begun rolling out a major redesign of its user profiles starting today. The new look, which Twitter has been testing since February, adds a lot more information to user profiles and several new features. In fact , it looks quite similar to Facebook's user profile.
The new profile features a larger user photo and a customizable header image. Tweets appear slightly larger. You can also pin one of your tweets to the top of your page.
Additionally, you can now choose how you want your timeline to look. You can see all tweets, or select tweets with photos or videos only.
As for the similarities between Twitter users' new profiles and Facebook profile pages, it seems inevitable. There's a square profile photo in the top left, and a large photo at the top dominates all three columns. Below the profile photo you'll find the user's basic information, and below that you'll find photos of their friends, or your friends.
The new profile design has already appeared on a few celebrities, including Zac Efron, Channing Tatum, Floyd Mayweather, and John Legend, and is also appearing with every new account. The rest of us will have to wait.
