If you use the popular Google Chrome browser , you may be familiar with the built-in translator feature. In previous versions, it was enabled by default and allowed you to translate any page that wasn't in your preferred language with a single click. The option button was a translation symbol at the top of the Chrome window.
In recent versions of Google Chrome, there is a new user interface for the translator. It is disabled by default, but you can unlock and turn it back on by following these simple steps.
Here's what the new translator looks like
To have the translator in the Google Chrome browser, you need to enable the option “Enable new Translation UX. Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS” in the browser’s chrome://flags configuration. Follow these simple steps:
1. Run the browser and type the following text in the address bar:
chrome://flags/#enable-translate-new-ux
It will take you directly to the program configuration and on the first line will be the new translator feature.
2. Click on the “Activate” which is immediately below.
3. Google Chrome needs to be restarted. You can use the “Restart Now” button that will appear at the bottom of the browser.
The next time you open a website in a different language, you will get the new translator message prompting you to translate the page.
