United Nations Internet Governance Forum Hacked, 3,215 User Accounts Leaked

IGF_LogoThe hacktivist group @deletesecannounced a breach and data leak of a United Nations website according to a CWN.

The site is the Internet Governance Forum (intgovforum.org) and appears to be registered to Chengetai Masango who is a Programme and Technology Manager at the United Nations Secretariat.

The purpose of the website is to support the United Nations Secretary‑General in carrying out the mandate from the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), regarding the convening of a new forum for multi‑stakeholder policy dialogue – the Internet Governance Forum (IGF). The website provides an interactive space where all interested parties can express their views and exchange ideas..

The breach was announced on Twitter and posted by defuse.ca. The leak includes 3,215 real user names, usernames, email addresses and encrypted passwords with some of the messages belonging to the government.
