Imagine the scene, you turn into the house and the temperature rises to the degrees you desire, the lights turn on, and your oven starts heating up so you can prepare dinner. All of this can happen because your iPhone's GPS notified your “smart” home that you are parking downstairs.
That's the future suggested by an Apple patent filed Tuesday. The patent is titled "system and method of determining location of wireless communication devices for controlling/adjusting operation of devices basedon the location."
According to the new patent your iPhone will be able to control lighting systems, security systems, garage doors, music controllers, climate controllers, or kitchen appliances”, as Apple states.
Naturally, the problem is device connectivity, as Apple's system will require a pantry or a refrigerator with Wi – Fi. Not to mention the network security system as hackers are lurking.
