While all Windows users running Microsoft's latest operating system are waiting until Friday to upgrade to Windows 8.1, the company announced on its official support page that Windows 8 will have two years to upgrade to Windows 8.1. This means that Windows 8 will continue to receive updates until October 18, 2015.
"Our Windows 8 customers will have two years to upgrade to Windows 8.1, after the release of Windows 8.1 updates will continue to support Windows 8," Microsoft said on the official Windows 8.1 Support Lifecycle Policy page.
The company probably doesn't know the disappointment of its customers running Windows 8. We highly doubt there will be even one left who won't immediately upgrade to the new operating system.
